WDW Wait Times Continue to Sit at 60+ Minutes

Walt Disney World is bringing back the magic in the parks, with new daytime and nighttime shows, including fireworks, projections, special cavalcades, and allowing fully vaccinated Guests to enjoy attractions and events in a more “normalized” atmosphere.

With that being said, we knew that crowds would definitely increase over time, especially in the summer, and after reviewing the current wait times in Walt Disney World, it seems wait times for attractions continue to sit at 60+ minutes for several popular attractions.

Here’s an overview of the highest wait times in Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Highest Wait Times

As the weekend approaches, and with many positive changes happening around Walt Disney World, wait times for many Disney attractions have continued to sit over the 50-minute mark. If you’re heading to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, be prepared to wait at Kilimanjaro Safaris, Na’vi River Journey, and Avatar Flight of Passage.

Of course, Magic Kingdom is one of Walt Disney World’s most beloved parks and for good reason, this theme park is filled with Disney’s most classic and iconic rides. At the time of publication, Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan’s Flight, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train show a wait time anywhere from 50 to 70 minutes.

EPCOT’s Test Track is marked at 85 minutes and continues to soar as we keep updating the My Disney Experience app. Soarin’ Around the World and Mission: SPACE seem to be very popular today and will continue to be as crowds increase.

The highest wait time was, no surprise, Slinky Dog Dash in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The roller coaster is located inside Toy Story Land and reached an approximate 100 minute wait at the standby queue. Over in Galaxy’s Edge, Guests waiting to experience the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run are standing by for 70 minutes, according to My Disney Experience.

It looks as though Toy Story Mania, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster are the rides to take advantage of as they are showing the least amount of wait time.

Over the last year we have seen these attraction wait times increase over time, which makes sense as Disney World has confirmed they’ve increased capacity a few times since reopening in July 2020. Keep in mind, Disney fans are currently planning to visit for the Walt Disney World for its 50th celebration in October, which will be one of Disney’s biggest events, so prepare ahead of time which rides are most important to you and head to them first thing in the morning!

Please remember that since Walt Disney World has suspended the red card system, it is very difficult to accurately determine the exact wait times for these attractions so keep that in mind while checking the My Disney Experience app.

FastPass+ has been suspended for some time, and with the increase of crowd levels, Guests are waiting on the edge of their seats to hear if Disney will announce the return of this convenient and free option.
