A familiar bot that cleans efficiently

The Roborock S7 does not look much different from its siblings. There are some subtle changes, such as “breathing” LED lights that fade in and out, a more compact water container, and most importantly, a new all-rubber underside brush. Aesthetically, it does not deviate from previous designs that we have seen from Roborock’s bots. In terms of cleanliness, the Roborock S7 skips efficiently thanks to its LIDAR-based navigation. It maps the room correctly and does a good job avoiding most obstacles. Sometimes cable wires on the floor can travel it, but it is able to navigate challenging rooms by trying to clean in straight lines. Its side-sweeping brushes do a good job of mopping up debris on the underside’s all-rubber brushes. However, after cleaning a few sessions, I found the hair tickled and tangled in the middle of the brush.

Despite this, it manages to suck some annoying pieces of litter all over my apartment. The carpets are handled decently, as it picks up most of the superficial stuff with its 2500Pa suction power, but it doesn’t come close to closing those hard, embedded pieces that are capable of assembling my cordless vacuum.

The marquee feature of the RaboRock S7 is its new sonic-mapping technology. All the previous blanks of the roborock employ the pulling method of moping. To be honest, I am satisfied with this, but not necessarily to disinfect surfaces – something that very few people can do.

Time is money, so I am impressed by how quickly it gets the job done, although I still want to see it as a way to disinfect surfaces.
