When you want to interact directly with your audience in real time, you can always set up a livestream, and the Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) tool is usually the best way to build it.

Get Your YouTube Stream Key

Phase 1: If you haven’t already, create a YouTube account. See our step-by-step guide (listed above) on how to do this.

Phase 2: You cannot livestream on YouTube until you verify the account with a linked mobile number. Go to the verification page, log in to your account, and follow the on-screen instructions.

step 3: Once verified, go to the YouTube Studio Dashboard. Next, click on the red camera To create The icon in the top right corner. After that, click Go direct In the small drop-down menu, as shown above.

step 4: On the following screen, select section Tab from the left side of the screen. A form enters the name of the stream and determines its privacy mode, description, and range. Be sure to select the age limit (if any), and then click Create stream To continue.

Step 5: Along with the stream you created, a control panel will provide a preview window and tab for stream settings, analytics and stream health.

Stream settings The tab is open by default. Look directly under the label to find the required stream key for OBS. Click Copy To send a 16-character string to the clipboard. You can also click It shows Eyeball button to expose the string for 10 seconds and manually enter them in OBS.

Whatever you do, keep this number a secret. You don’t want anyone else to have it, because they can stream it to your account without your permission.

Link OBS to YouTube

Phase 1: Download OBS from the official website and install it as any other program. Run it as an administrator, and log in Adjustment Panel using the corresponding buttons located in the bottom right corner.

Phase 2: On the following pop-up screen, use Video And production Tab to select your chosen frame rate, resolution and bit rate – they control your audio quality. To see the ideal settings for YouTube, see Google‘s relevant help page.

step 4: In Stream key Field, type or paste your YouTube stream key. It connects OBS with YouTube so that the software streams directly to your channel.

Step 5: Click Audio On the left-hand menu. Each device on that page represents a possible audio source in your livestream. If you want viewers to listen to in-game or desktop audio, set one of these Desktop audio Settings for your system’s audio output. If you want your audience to hear you, select your microphone from the drop-down on the side Mix / Support Audio.

Step 6: Exit the settings panel by clicking Applicable > Okay.

Step 7: In the main window, click Plus Icon under Sources Moving downward. If you want to stream game footage, click Game capture Listed on the pop-up menu.

You have a few different options for capturing your footage. You can capture any full-screen application, a specific window or a foreground window. You can also force scaling, capture third-party overlays, and more. Click Okay to complete.

Want to add your headshot using an external camera? Press Plus Icon under Sources Again, but this time, choose Video capture device. Select your camera from the list of options under Tip Decide on drop-down and its quality and FPS. When done, click Okay.

Start streaming

With all of the above settings and your YouTube channel configured to accept your stream, there is only one thing to do: start streaming! If you want to start now, click Start streaming The button is located in the right corner.

On the dashboard of your YouTube stream, click Go direct Button in the top left corner. Once YouTube receives an OBS broadcast, the video and audio appear in the dashboard’s preview pane. The feed then runs for 10 to 20 seconds on its public page due to a short delay.

When you’ve finished streaming, say goodbye to anyone watching and click Stop streaming Button in OBS.

Stream issues

If you are experiencing problems with your PC’s performance and the resulting stream, you can upload and analyze the OBS log. Click help On the toolbar, then select Log File In the drop-down menu, then Upload current log file or Upload last log file On a secondary menu. A pop-up window with the URL appears in your uploaded log. Press Copy url To send the button to your clipboard, and then click Okay To finish.

Next, go to the OBS Log Analyzer and paste the URL into the text box. Press Analysis Button to see what causes your performance and streaming issues. For example, your stream may be choppy because the FPS and / or resolution of your game is set too high at the end of the PC, causing the GPU to overload.

Obsidian Entertainment RPG Pillars of Eternity Bug Tracking & Optimization Tool

OBS Log Analyzer is a tool for the game Obsidian Entertainment’s RPG, Pillars of Eternity. It reads and parses the log files that are created when playing the game, then creates charts to show statistical data from them. This can be useful in tracking down bugs or optimizing performance.

OBS Log Analyzer was developed by jsmorley, who is also responsible for the popular Rainmeter skin suite. The program is open source and can be downloaded from GitHub.

The first version of OBS Log Analyzer was released on April 9th, 2016. It is a command-line tool that requires Python 3 to run. The latest release, version 0.2.1, was published on July 2nd, 2017. This version adds a GUI and the ability to read logs from multiple games at once.

Obsidian Entertainment’s RPG, Pillars of Eternity, is a critically acclaimed game that has been praised for its deep story and engaging combat. It was made with the help of crowdfunding site Kickstarter, where it raised over $4 million. The game was released on March 26th, 2015 for PC, Mac, and Linux.
