Heres how to watch the microsoft build 2021 keynote

Microsoft’s annual Build Developer Conference is almost here, and since the event is completely digital and mostly pre-recorded, you can watch it at your own pace in the comfort of your home. If you are wondering how to do this, then we have you covered. Here’s how you can see Build 2021.

How to view the opening keynote of build 2021

Build 2021 will officially begin on Tuesday, May 25, with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella as the keynote speaker. The keynote speaker will run from 9 am to 9:30 pm PT. Nadella will talk about “tools and platforms for developers to create productive solutions for hybrid work in the modern technology stack”. You can watch it live on Microsoft’s YouTube channel above.

The build will run until Thursday, May 27. After part of Nadella’s keynote speech ends, you can watch the rest of the action from the build in Livestream above or by going to the My Build website. It’s free, and all you have to do is log in with a Microsoft account or email. You can also add a network to your calendar with sessions and other build participants.

What to expect for Build 2021

Expectations for Build 2021 are slightly higher this year. Microsoft and Windows chief Panos Panay said that “this is going to be a big year for Windows” We think Windows 10 may be in this spotlight this year. Airing this speculation are new icons in Windows 10 and newer fonts, as well as clues to things like the redesigned jump list in the taskbar. Microsoft also mentioned that it was focusing on bringing the design and other elements of its now canceled Windows 10X operating system to the regular Windows 10.

In addition to Windows 10, we expect other Microsoft products – Teams, Outlook, Azure – to be in the news. This is because build is usually a developer-heavy phenomenon, where the focus is on coding apps and experiences for Microsoft products. Of course, we also expect Microsoft to talk about its new Edge browser. There are currently over 287 build sessions focusing on Microsoft Teams, Azure and Power Platform, which all fall under the banner of Microsoft 365 products.
