Disney World Restaurants Add Hurricane Meal Kits to Menus –

Tropical Storm Elsa is still on course and is currently hitting the Sunshine State. While it may be a Tropical Storm at this time, there is a chance that it could increase in strength over the Florida Straits and be upgraded to a hurricane once it reaches the Orlando area. It seems that Disney World is taking no chances when it comes to Elsa and is already making preparations for when the storm hits.

Today, several quick service locations at Walt Disney World have added “Hurricane Meal Kits” to their menus for Guests. One of those restaurants is Everything POP at Disney’s Pop Century Resort.

There are Hurricane Kits for both Breakfast and Lunch, full of food that Guests can easily bring back to their rooms and munch on when they feel like it. Things like Bagels, wraps, fruit, and cookies are found in the meal kits. Most Disney World Resort rooms have refrigerators, so the food can be kept nice and cold.

While Pop Century lists the meal kits as hurricane specific, there are other restaurants on property that just list the kits as “Meal Kits”. They can be found at a number of resorts, including Captain Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Boardwalk Bakery at Disney’s Boardwalk Hotel, The Beach Club Marketplace at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and more!

While the meals have been added to the resort’s menus, it does not appear that they can be ordered at this time. Disney is most likely waiting to make the meals available right before Tropical Storm Elsa hits — which is estimated to be about Tuesday/Wednesday. That way they will have time to prepare them and have enough on hand for the Guests that want them.

In the event that Elsa does hit Disney World, Guests can expect the theme parks to shut down all outdoor attractions, but as long as there is no thunder or lightning, Guests may still play in the rain. If the weather unfortunately gets too dangerous, Disney may decide to shut the theme parks down completely.

As of right now, Disney has not announced that any of its theme parks will be shut down or experiences limited because of Elsa. However, those decisions are usually made not too far in advance as Disney watches how the weather progresses.
