When Disney World opened back up last summer after a months-long closure because of the pandemic, there were a lot of things that were different. From mandatory masks to no FastPasses, and most of the resorts on property being closed, it wasn’t the same Disney people knew. However, things are getting back to normal at the parks and more and more Disney perks are returning. And now we know of one perk, specifically for resort Guests that will be making a comeback.
Beginning October 1, Guests staying at a Walt Disney World hotel will be able to access any of the Disney World theme parks 30 minutes before the park opens to other Guests! This date coincides with the kickoff of Disney World’s 50 Anniversary celebration — which will run from October 1, 2021, until 2023.
It is important to note that the Swan and Dolphin hotels — although located on Disney World property — will not be participating in this early morning entry. To see a complete list of all of the participating resorts (including a few not owned by Disney), you can click here and visit the Walt Disney World website.
This extra time in the theme parks in the morning is similar to the Extra Magic Hours that Disney World offered to hotel Guests before the theme parks were forced to shut down. At this time, the Extra Magic Hours that existed prior to the shutdown will not be returning. In addition to the early morning admission, Guests staying at Deluxe Resorts or higher will also be able to have extra time in the theme parks at night.
The Deluxe Resort evening extra hours will take place on select days for select theme parks, however, those parks and times have not been announced yet.
All of this extra time in the theme parks will allow Guests to enjoy a ton of new experiences that will be happening at the Walt Disney World Resort as it celebrates its 50 Anniversary. Some of those special events include a new fireworks show called Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom Park, a new nighttime show called HarmonioUS at EPCOT, and many more exciting events.
