While viewing the dashboard, you can tap on a setting – say location, and then see a timeline that describes when an app checked your location, for how long, and whether it did it in the background I went.

A new indicator has been added to the top menu bar to show when an app is accessing your camera or microphone, and when you see it, you swipe down from the top of the screen to see your Quick Settings panel And immediately stop access.

A new double-tap gesture to complete the job

Apple’s iPhone has a nice feature that lets you tap the back of the phone multiple times to trigger the action of your choosing. It looks like Google is going to use that idea by adding a new double-tap gesture.

on me Pixel 5Went to Adjustment > system > Gestures > double tap And turned on the new facility. After it is enabled, you will see a list of actions you can trigger. The list currently includes taking a screenshot, playing and pausing media, viewing recent apps, opening a notification shade, and launching Google Assistant.

That said, I have not been able to successfully trigger the gestures in any initial preview. Apparently this is a feature coming to Android 12, but it does not seem to be fully integrated yet.

Another clue that Google’s work here is incomplete: the animation playing at the top of the screen shows the person double-pressing the power button instead of tapping the phone.

S21 ultra vs note 20 ultra

Whenever Samsung will release Android 12 in their phones, phones like the Galaxy Note 20 will benefit from the one-hand mode.

The large screen on the phone is easy to use with one hand

Over the past few years, the iPhone’s reachability feature has made it easier to use phones with large screens with one hand. And now Android 12 has a new one-hand mode feature that does the same thing. Go to and turn it on Adjustment > system > Gestures > One-handed mode And slide the switch on On position.

To use it, swipe down on the bar at the bottom of your phone’s screen. Doing so will bring the interface down in the middle of your display, with everything within reach at the top of your screen.

Interface changes are coming.

A small change in the way information appears

This is a minor change and is expected to expand in future updates. The notification panel has a new look that is very subtle. When you are using the Light theme, the notification shade has a blue color and the app icons are more pronounced. This gives a glimpse of the new approach to the interface that we hope to see more in future releases.

Media control is no longer the case for every app.

Media apps don’t have to take control

Instead of allowing every app that plays audio or video to use the quick-setting media control panel, Android adds the option to turn off 12 different apps. For example, if you want to be able to control the playback of Spotify in the Quick-Settings panel shade, but you don’t really want YouTube to take up space, you can turn it off for YouTube.

Open Adjustment > Sound and vibration > Media And close all the apps you want to ban.
